one place i will never trust i know an old aged lady who had to go into hospital, she rang up battersea to see if they could re-home her old dog as she knew in her heart that she would never be able to care for her as she did when she was well, after she had been in hospital for 2 days her son went to batersea to fetch the dog back as he knew that his mum loved her so much and, when he got there they told him that they put her to sleep within 5 hours of them taking her on. i have hated batersea ever since and i would not give them the snot out my nose sorry for that but that place makes me bloody angry

Shocked. Your right Mel you never see what goes in rescue, behind closed doors.. Remember the RSPCA? They put a German shepherd down - it was apparently healthy..and a few months before in their bank account *i think there was a documentary about it* they had millions of money Mad 2

you know round hear we have a big grey hound rescue and its always the owners who have a bad runner who hands them over what they do is charge the owner £300 for taking them in and there free if you want to adopt one, with the money they get from the owner the greyhound is kept on that and if the money runs out for no fault of the dog as he still is in rescue they keep him for nothing untill a home is found they never put one to sleep

you do find its the smaller, lesser known, rescues that are doing the best for the animals
